Elon Musk has once again voiced his frustration with the latest U.S. government spending bill, calling it a “disgusting abomination” in a sharp social media post. Musk, who has been openly critical of the reconciliation bill, expressed his disapproval after the House passed the legislation largely along party lines.
The Tesla and SpaceX CEO, who also served as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), argued that the bill was filled with excessive “pork” spending that undermines efforts to reduce government waste. Despite Musk’s harsh criticism, the White House has stood by the legislation, with Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt describing it as a “big, beautiful bill.”
Senate Majority Leader John Thune acknowledged differences of opinion with Musk but remains hopeful Musk will reconsider. The spat highlights ongoing debates within Republican ranks about government spending priorities, with Musk positioning himself as a vocal advocate for fiscal discipline.
